Crafting the Home Office

If you are going to work from home, you are going to need somewhere to work. Keep in mind that this doesn't need to be a super fancy place.  In fact, there are plenty of ways you can work a home office into your current set-up.  Below are some of my favorite ideas for setting up a quick and simple home office.

Set Up Behind the Couch

This idea from Apartment Therapy is one of my favorites.  You can easily use this table as your desk and then use it for extra seating when you are entertaining.  It also keeps you from feeling isolated from your family and makes it easier to work at home while watching the kids.

Use an Occasional Table Over the Bed

Purchase it at Ikea or make it yourself using this DIY guide from Rhody Life.  This is an excellent solution if you are tight on space, enjoy breakfast in bed, or even want an option that makes it easier to work when you aren't feeling well.  Personally, I love it because in my area of Mexico, the homes have no heat and get super cold in the winter; I can heat my bedroom with a space heater and stay toasty all day.

Place Your Desk at the End of Your Bed

This fantastic idea, featured by Jennifer Rizzo, allows you to work your work space into your bedroom or guest bedroom.  I love that the desk functions both as a space for work and as a footboard.
